Highlights from Clean-up on Payne and Arcade
27 Apr 2026
What a great clean-up! Over 50 people attended and finished our route in record time. We discovered about half of the attendees were from businesses and half from the community. Lead organizers from ESNDC, Brunson's, Voliere /CrowBar and Kendall's Ace Hardware harnessed the power of their peers to get a truck, a dumpster, a ton of supplies, and awesome support for breakfast and triumphant lunch. Special thanks to Caydence Records & Coffee, Saint Paul Brewing, and Walter's Recycling & Refuse. Lunch from Brunson's, Yarusso's Italian Restaurant, Tongue in Cheek, East Side Pizzeria, and Saint Paul Brewing, We had the added bonus of ROTC cadets from Johnson High School earlier in the week cleaning their block around the school thanks to the excellent organizing of ESNDC's Anne DeJoy! Keep it looking great out there.
Tips we learned: you can call on the City with complaints for special overwhelmed dumped upon areas: City of Saint Paul website→ [upper left] “I Want to…” → make a complaint → [follow the prompts to this form] https://cityofstpaulmn.tylerportico.com/TIM/Portal/new-request-create
Residents can arrange to have large items picked up if they call ahead of time. We need to spread the word next year to residents to take care of large bulky items like mattresses, appliances, tires, etc.
